Unsurprisingly, four of the five tools mentioned are examples of machine translation, an increasingly popular resource and the subject of an upcoming blog post. However, Lifehacker concluded that none of the machine translation tools “has been able to appropriately capture context, meaning, tone, and even inflection the way a human being can communicate it if they know multiple languages.”

The translator is responsible for conveying the source content into the target language (for instance French into English), using appropriate terms.
